Choose a route by what you want to read. The site is not arranged around one country’s curriculum.
New to chemistry
Start with “From alchemy to chemistry,” then read “Element, atom, molecule.” Neither assumes prior chemistry.
Reading structural formulas
Read the two Foundations articles in order. First separate the number of atoms from their connections; then move on to molecular data.
Working with molecular data
Start with “What is cheminformatics?” and follow it with “A first look at SMILES.” Programming is not required. The first task is to see what a representation includes and what it leaves out.
